Prayer Intentions

Masses are generally offered for deceased members of the Church. Loved ones can be remembered by scheduling a special Mass for them.

Masses are often offered for the recovery of those suffering from illness, disease, mental anguish or recovering from surgery.

Masses may also be offered for various special occasions such as remembering an anniversary, a birthday, a graduation, a newly born child or other happy occasions of celebration.

There are several ways to schedule a Mass: you may come into the parish office, see the weekend receptionist before or after Mass, call the parish office or mail a written request with the name of the recipient, date and time of the Mass requested.

Masses can be scheduled on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.; Sunday at 7:30 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m., or 12:00 noon. Masses may also be scheduled at 9:00 a.m., on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday morning.

Mass Intentions are announced prior to the beginning of Mass. Mass cards for the living and deceased are provided upon request. The Mass cards notify the interested family of the date and time the Mass is being offered. The suggested stipend for each Mass Intention is $10.00.

Prayer Requests

St. Thomas More has a community of men and women dedicated to praying for those in need. Prayer requests are offered for those in the military, for those who are ill, and for those suffering the loss of a loved one, as well as the deceased.

Please consider joining us in praying for Those Requesting Prayers. Suggested Prayers are provided.

Special Request

Please pray for those in the Military who have given their lives for our freedom.

Thank you for keeping these people, and the people of St. Thomas More in your prayers.

Prayer for the Sick

All powerful and everlasting God, Your Son accepted our suffering to teach us the virtue of patience in human illness. Hear the prayers we offer for our sick brothers and sisters. May all who suffer pain, illness, or disease be restored to good health and given new strength. Make them joyful in spirit and ready to embrace Your will. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer for the Deceased

God of mercy, hear our prayer, be merciful to your sons and daughters whom You have called from this life. Welcome them into the company of Your saints, in the kingdom of everlasting life. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer for Family of the Deceased

Bless this family who suffer in grief. Ease their pain. Give them comfort and peace in the knowledge that their loved one has entered the kingdom of heaven to enjoy everlasting life. Help them feel the spirit of their newly departed each and every day of their lives. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer for the Military

God of Mercy we ask You to protect in a special way those who are fighting for us and for the country we love. Bless them and take care of them. If they are tired, give them strength. If they are wounded and suffering, give them comfort. If they are lonely, touch them with Your gentle hand and let them know we care. Amen.

Prayer for All

Heavenly Father, you have joined us in this community of faith. We thank you for the blessings that you have bestowed upon the people of St. Thomas More. We ask Your healing for those who are sick, and the consolation that only You can give to those who have suffered the loss of a loved one. We commend to Your care and safe keeping all the men and women who serve in our armed forces, as they defend our freedom. Help us to be good stewards of your resources, and leaders in your ways of faith. We ask that You hear our prayers and grant our requests through Christ the Lord. Amen.

Prayer for Hope

Almighty God, thank You for all creation. Help me, and the people of the world, replace hate, war, oppression, and division with love, peace, freedom, and reconciliation. Help me daily to love You, my family and friends and have strangers and those different from me not be my enemy. Amen
